This example shows how to make a window dockable to the desktop.

To use, drag the window to either the top, left or right hand side of the 
window and it should dock itself (NOTE: I didn't impliment bottom docking).

The suqare panel on the left end of the docked window can be used for 
dragging the window off (making a standard floating window) or for closing
the window by double clicking on it.

The SetDesktop procedure are used for altering the appearance of the icon
list on your desktop. The UpdateDesktop procedure actually set the option
to use.

Please note that this was just some random ideas put together on the fly
and is neither "code complete" nor elegant and is definately "USE AT YOUR
OWN RISK".
